What is a Doula? A Doula is trained and experienced in supporting women and their partners during childbirth. The doulas role is to help you have the most satisfying birth possible-as defined by you. She learns your wishes for your birth, as expressed in your birth plan and in conversations with you. She follows you through your pregnancy i.e.: your DR's appointments.
She is available to you 24 hours a day 7 days a week to answer any questions that you might have. When you reach your 36th week of pregnancy she comes to your home to teach you your childbirth education class. When you going labor she stays by your side from the time you ask her to come until an hour or two after you give birth. All our Doulas are trained in massage and trigger point. Your doula is not there to replace your partner, but is there to help them have a better birth experience as well. Your doula will also take photos of your birth and after baby is home bring you these photos in the form of a birth story. After arriving home your doula will still be there for you. She will help you with your breast feeding, she will teach you how to give your baby a bath. She is also there to teach you anything she can to help you be the best mother you can be.
